Celebs are always in the spotlight so it’s understandable that they want to look good and for trend setters like Kate Moss and Cheryl Cole it’s all part of the job.
But what about those celebs with children who are themselves becoming fashion icons? According to research by Debenhams fashion conscious parents are spending up to £427 on clothes for their kids every single season.
Hollywood Celeb’s Kids
Debenhams have said that an average of £427 is spent on little girls every season with a new wardrobe of seven dresses, eight tops, five pairs of shoes, four skirts and three coats and jackets. Debenhams have attributed this to the ‘Suri effect’ in reference to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ daughter who is constantly snapped in the latest trends and designer clothes.
Boys are also cashing in on the fashion action with parents spending around £357 each season with the main trendsetters being names as the Beckham offspring; Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, 7 and Cruz, 5. Boys get a wardrobe update including 10 t-shirts, four pairs of shoes, three coats and jackets and five pairs of jeans or trousers.
Debenhams’ director of childrenswear, Kate Liszka, said: “Us Brits are famed for trying to keep up with the Joneses. Now it seems it’s keeping up with the Cruises.”
The Cruises reportedly kit Suri out in designer clothing worth up to £2 million each season. A little excessive we think, especially as they are likely to grow out of it all in just a few months!
Bollywood Celeb’s Kids
Not only in Hollywood but everywhere celeb’s kids are emerging as fashion icons. Bollywood stars leave no expense to introduce their children in the spotlight and prepare them to extend their legacy. Everyone knows about Bollywood and nepotism and both have very deep connection. Recently we have seen that Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and actress Kareena Kapoor’s son, Taimoor Ali Khan has been a child fashion icon. We can safely conclude that presenting celeb’s kids as fashion icons is not limited to Hollywood but Bollywood is also catching up very fast.
